showering baby G

{i cant believe this is my 100th post!}

friday: pizza & movie night! we could not figure out what to do, and its always tricky when isaiah gets home late because fun things like the mall close at 9 :( we watched wreck it ralph -- SO CUTE! and perks of being a wallflower. not bad, but id still prefer the book to the movie any day. oh! && we went to get pedicures :) i secretly hate them, but that chair is too good to pass up. im always jealous when my husband is loving that massage chair when im stuck in a regular chair to get a mani, so i ditched the mani and joined him for a pedi. yay pretty summer toes!

saturday: we had brunch downtown at Key's Cafe with a co-worker & friend of Isaiah's Scott. the main plan was to ask him to be baby G's godfather, and he accepted! after brunch we ran over to wayzata to a custom tailor to pick up isaiah's new suit & i immediately began to feel like i was hit by a truck. it was definitely the worst i felt all pregnancy and i had no idea what to do because it was so new to me! we came home & took a 2 hour nap. when we woke up we were supposed to meet back up with Scott for a double date night and comedy show, but i was just in tears from feeling so bent out of shape that i pretty much spent the night in bed and mosey-ing around the house.

sunday: baby shower day!

yesterday, we had our co-ed shower to get ready in welcoming our baby boy! i can not believe i am 31 weeks tomorrow and were considered full term in just 6 more!
our shower was held over a brunch at Pinstripes in Edina, where isaiah and i love to hang out with groups of friends over some delicious food! Pinstripes is a great two story place that also has bowling and bocce ball inside :) it's always good to get out and do something different. and i LOVED having a co-ed shower! our search for a venue wasnt an easy one, but Pinstripes exceeded all of our expectations & beyond. i would definitely use them again and again to host a variety of events!
after everyone had some time to eat & mingle, all of the boys started the shower off by having a race on the bocce courts in two separate teams to see who could each clean, powder and diaper their baby the fastest - hilarious. double bonus for me not having to do anything! in our banquet room we had little nautical decor pieces along with the sweetest tiny diaper cakes of navy & aqua. seriously, the diapers - SO TINY! i just squeal. outside of our indoor space was the large outdoor patio area overlooking the lake with blankets & a bonfire - totally adorable. our cake was red velvet, totally drool worthy. we got lots of books, great clothes & a thousand play sleepers but now we need to buy plenty of the necessities and bigger items ourselves. {and i am still dying to get a blabla doll!} it was a great day spent with our friends & i am so glad we accomplished it all in one shower! let the countdown begin!

would you ever have a co-ed baby shower with your man?!

  5. Oh yes, my hubby was at the baby shower. We had a few other male guests. Hubby enjoyed opening all of the gifts.

    Your shower looked wonderful. I like the theme, especially the blue anchors!

  6. Such a cute shower! I chose the traditional route and had a girls-only shower, but for our next one (whenever we get there), I'm definitely planning a co-ed gender reveal party!

  8. What a fun shower!
    One of my showers was co-ed. Everyone had a great time. Drinking games were involved (minus preggo me, obvi), so of course it was a good time. :)

  11. I loved Wreck It Ralph, such a cute movie! Congratulation on Scott accepting to be Baby G's godfather! You looked absolutely beautiful at the shower, and the decorations were too cute! If/when we get pregnant, I'd actually rather have a co-ed baby shower. I have way more guy friends than girlfriends, so if we didn't, there would only be like 3 ladies at the shower!
