our first sight of the sunshine and a warm day, we made a bee-line to the zoo. this same day happened to be easter and it was crue's first time going! my mom was here visiting (hi mom! we miss you!) and it was just the perfect chance to go! many animals weren't out yet but it worked out perfectly because we only had about an hour to roam before closing anyway so we had the right amount of time to see what animals were out. this basically just turned out to be a family photoshoot. ha ha.
when i don't think about the animals being 'alone' at night or held in such tiny places :(( - i love the zoo. i love re-living that part about my childhood and walking around outside. como zoo is free and closer to our house than the MN zoo, so i think we will be there a lot this summer! (though we are hoping to get a season pass to the MN zoo also, that place is just so much bigger!)
this polar bear was doing his work out for the day. he swam back & forth alternating his breast stroke and back stroke,
tossing his body off a rock and pushing to n fro - a good 1000x. just keep swimming. just keep swimming!
this sign was incredibly slanted at a tilt. when C and i were reading about the bears,
he just wanted to climb and hold himself up. baby pull ups? ok sure!
this polar bear preferred a nap to a swim. i wonder if they were related. males? females? i would love to snuggle them.
he takes his "soooo big!" very seriously.
this week we are FINALLY supposed to get in to the 70's so i think C and i will return some afternoon soon :) but i love that our first (his first) time at the zoo was with daddy too!
