my first mothers day was definitely one for the books.
in fact, i think i had an entire mothers day weekend!
friday nights are usually our meal planning nights and target runs to grocery shop. we use to do that on sundays but target on a sunday makes me feel like im in the middle of an arena with a herd of bulls charging at me. pure chaos. while we were at target i got a new sports bra and 3 new work out tops so i can face my new t25 goal head on. i considered those my unofficial presents :) finding a sports bra that fits me well is such a difficult task, so if any of you have big boobs and know something good - spill the beans!
saturday we went to a craft fair at the state fair grounds. it was FINALLY a beautiful day and i absolutely loved being outside. the vendors were great and i got a head band. isaiah also snuck in a card that he gave me on mothers day. sneaky man! the fair went longer than we had originally planned so i missed the yoga event with MN bloggers :( and since i had already missed that we just continued our day and went to a spring rally of food trucks. i ate macaroni with bacon bits and brats which was TOO DIE FOR and it really had me wishing i didn't miss that yoga event! my oh my. thank goodness i have no idea where that food truck is on a regular basis. heart attack. after the food trucks we decided to head home and let our dogs out for a breather and then we continued to spend our day outside since it was actually above 60 degrees. we found ourselves in uptown so we parked the car, took out the stroller and store hopped. got some goodies for Crue from american apparel, a super sexy suit for isaiah from H&M, i got some jogging/lounge shorts and an outfit to wear for mothers day. more unofficial presents :) we had dinner at Rudolphs and now i want to go back there every single week. have you all ever been there? isaiah was OBSESSED with their ribs and said they were beyond delicious, better than famous daves! i got a chicken chop salad and was in heaven. im not a huge salad fan because 99% of the time being near lettuce makes me cry but i ate every last bite. more please!
sunday. mothers day! i have waited for this day for oh so so long. this day use to create a sting in my heart before i was pregnant. i loved mothers day 2013 feeling C hang out and kick around in my belly but having him here this year was incredible. isaiah gave me my gifts in the morning but i didn't open them because i was too busy trying to get C and myself ready to be on time for church with the mother in law, so i opened them in the car on the way. my officiallllll presents were an origami necklace, the fitbit flex and the frozen dvd! though later on in the afternoon isaiah admitted that frozen was more for him. HA HA. after church we had brunch at uptown cafeteria with the mother in law and walked around outside more. we went all the way down hennepin ave searching for a new nose ring and every tattoo or piercing shop we passed was a fail. it was so nice to be outside though. and C had a good nap in the stroller so it was worth it. on our way back to the car we passed heartbreakers and i got 2 baseball tee dresses to wear. i am already excited to wear them because they will be perfect to wear out or just to chase crue in - if it ever gets nice enough to wear a damn dress around here! when we got home we took C to the park FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME. he touched the grass, went down the slide and looooved being on the swings! i truly think its because he loves feeling the breeze against his face, we figured that one out on the cruise. later in the evening we went to chipotle because its my new favorite thing in the world and had dinner outside on the patio. seriously. i love this little family of mine.
after i put in all these charms - i took some out and decided to switch them up :)
sailboat, suitcase, green stone, pink stone, "G", "love", wedding ring, post card and sand dollar.
crue. you have made me the happiest mother in the world. i am so blessed to spend my days with you, watching you grow, play and laugh. you are too smart for your own good and have already made me so proud. thanks for picking me to be your mom buddy.
i love you!
